GE Aviation’s state-of-the-art, $100 million Lafayette plant is designed to handle the strict tolerances required to build high-efficiency LEAP engines for aviation giants like Boeing and Airbus. The 10-foot-deep roof structure achieves zero deflection, allowing high-precision specialty cranes to operate with complete stability. A two-story glass office structure inside the plant floods the entire production space with natural daylight. The lobby welcomes guests with a dynamic Customer Experience space, which allows visitors to walk around a finished LEAP engine and watch the action in the assembly space through a large glass wall.
